Should I watch Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart?
Soooo this is what happens when anime shorts gives up and goes insane doesn't it, well it's certainly not the first time LA has seen something like this happen...
If there was a phrase LA can sum up Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart it would quite easily be "What it this, what even is thi-?". This anime short barely has a tangible plotline in it's bone and the characters are either crazy, stereotypes or batshit crazier than the crazy.
Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart does goes through some random incidents here and there such as a visual novel mystery game for one episode to mecha genre to live action goats (no seriously and no don't ask...LA doesn't even...) and Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart tries it's attempts at DRAMA of all things concerning Nora and THAT fails because getting this far with the random shit it did for the past 10 episodes then it expects us to take a more serious deep episode about Nora and one of his parents seriously...NOPE, it didn't earn that even if it tried. The finale is probably even worse as the focus goes back to Nora and a dire urgency about him but comes out as a pratfall by the end of it, way to end your anime short in dignity.
The animation is lackluster even for each 3 minutes, from what looks like 3D CGI work on the character models to how visual novel-eque it looks and yes it's based on a visual novel but LA doesn't expect the animation to actually BE LIKE it's visual novel counterpart. The only touches LA actually liked about the animation was when certain episodes have a genre shift and the animation fits into the atmosphere, though even with this detail it doesn't help that the animation looks lackluster all throughout and don't LA even get started on that live action goat episode...did W-Toon Studio and DMM.futureworks run out of money?, intentionally mocking the audience? or were they THAT lazy?
With how maniac the voice acting is in this anime short, it was hard to pin down ANY voice acting that stood out as the majority of characters were batshit crazy, though some of the vocal reactions to some of the characters were well timed? (as such You Taichi and Atsumi Tanezaki).
As as much as LA is tearing this anime short apart, LA is merely confused by this anime short than anything and like most anime shorts it's short at 3 minutes per episode it's merciful at that however it feels like it's batshit craziness and randomness came from the same director of Ai Mai Mii (it didn't if your askin'). How Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart came to existence and what it's trying to do and how it got greenlight and released utterly baffles LA. LA might have given Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart a 4, but it's more like a ?.
Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart is dead on arrival apt for the Queen of Hell with the "What the Fuckery" it pulls on you and that's ok, strangely enough.
